Ozark MMJ Cards provides medical marijuana card renewal services to residents of Norphlet, Arkansas. Norphlet came by its unusual name by way of a post office error in the 1890s. In the 1880s, the town had first been known as Haymos and later Jesse. The town was re-named for Nauphlet Goodwin. When the Post Office was established in 1891, the name “Nauphlet” looked like “Norphlet” to the Postal Office staff members when they saw it written. As a result, the papers for the post office were issued for Norphlet. 

A suburb of the county seat of El Dorado, Norphlet’s economy is largely dependent on the oil industry, as it has been for decades. In 1922, the town was the site of Arkansas’ most infamous oil disasters, an explosion and fire that left two enormous craters in the area. However, the oil industry continued to thrive. The oil industry brought many oil workers to Norphlet in the 20th century and continues to provide most of the jobs in the city in the twenty-first century. Norphlet is the home to several small businesses, stores, and houses of worship. The crater from the 1922 explosion is now filled with water and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. The town’s historic City Hall is located on West Padgett Street, just down from Café 1891, where residents and visitors can enjoy home-style American fare.

The population growth of Norphlet stabilized due to the establishment of the MacMillan Oil Refinery. The refinery closed in 1987 and the property was acquired by Nor-Ark Industrial Corporation. However, it was abandoned in 1991 and oil contamination seeped into the water sources nearby. The Environmental Protection Agency oversaw a clean-up effort through its national Superfund program, and it was completed in 1997.

• Seizures including without limitation those characteristic of epilepsy
• Severe and persistent muscle spasms including without limitation those characteristic of multiple sclerosis
