Dr. Daniel Whitelock

Dr. Daniel Whitelocke

Owner and CEO

Daniel knew there had to be a better way, and practicing natural integrative medicine had always been a dream for him.

Dr. Daniel loves making people feel better, which is why he got into the healing sick people business. After graduating from Meharry Medical College in Tennessee in 2011, he entered his surgery residency program at University of Tennessee. He became disillusioned spending all day with unconscious patients in the OR though, so he moved to Arkansas in 2014 and began practicing as a primary care doctor. He found that counseling patients about how to achieve wellness gave him great satisfaction, but he was bothered by the increased proportion of patients who weren’t getting enough benefit from the modern pharmaceuticals that he was prescribing.

Daniel knew there had to be a better way, and practicing natural integrative medicine had always been a dream for him. At that point in 2019 however, the medical cannabis program was finally underway making sales to patients. He realized it was his golden opportunity to grasp his dream of being able to treat patients naturally without the barriers to care that come with traditional modern medicine, and Concierge Clinics LLC was born. It began as an operation that he ran independently, certifying patients for MMJ cards right from his car. Now his company Ozark MMJ Cards has multiple offices that are all dedicated to providing the best in customer service and patient care.

In his free time, he enjoys shedding his physician identity and being just Daniel (no doctor prefix), as he finds it’s fun to play out the fantasy of being a different person, rather than a predictable clinical identity. Playing the guitar has been an artistic endeavor of his that affords him space to express himself creatively. His go to genre of music to play is classic rock, with his biggest influences being Guns ‘N’ Roses, Pearl Jam, Led Zeppelin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bob Marley, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rolling Stones, Metallica, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Fleetwood Mac, and Pink Floyd.

To keep himself at peace, Daniel makes a special effort to observe and participate in the joy of nature. Camping with his family and visiting state parks brings him great respite from the daily grind. His dog, Bronco, especially enjoys taking hikes with him in nature and going swimming in rivers. Daniel also spends a lot of time reading about mindfulness and how we can curate a more sustainable life for ourselves.

“Honestly, I feel some degree of responsibility for creating a framework for how we can build our professional lives around our healthy, natural lives as opposed to the other way around. So I journal a lot in order to revise my ideas for how to achieve the life of using less, working less, suffering less, and being happy more. My life’s purpose is helping others create a life for themselves that is more in harmony with their natural destinies.”

Dr. Dan says the privilege of helping humans live a more fulfilling life gives him immense satisfaction. His dream for the future is to put affordable wellness care in the hands of more people so we can build healthier, more sustainable communities.
