Pocahontas Medical Marijuana Doctor

Ozark MMJ Cards provides a simpler way to renew medical marijuana cards for residents of Pocahontas, Arkansas. Pocahontas is situated along east and west sides of the Black River in the northwestern portion of the state. Named after the Native American from Jamestown, Virginia, a statue of the city’s famous namesake is located in Overlook Park. Pocahontas is the county seat of Randolph County. The Old Randolph County Courthouse, built in 1871, remains the distinguishing feature of the city with its stunning Victorian Italianate design.

The city’s economy is supported by light industry and farming supplies. Because of a 17-block area of downtown Pocahontas which was designated a National Historic Landmark District, Pocahontas also has a growing heritage tourism industry. Pocahontas is also a Preserve America Community. Preserve America Communities is a federal initiative and designation program recognizing communities that protect and celebrate their heritage and use their historic assets for economic development and community revitalization. Pocahontas is a leader in arts and education in the region. The city offers cultural and entertainment opportunities at its Imperial Dinner Theatre, the Studio for the Arts, and the Downtown Playhouse. Art galleries, unique shopping, and dining venues are enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.

Served by five rivers and one lake, outdoor recreation and water sports are a big part of life in Randolph County. The Black River offers excellent big-bass fishing, while anglers can find consistent catch of bass, bream, and crappie on the Current River. The Fourche River empties into the Black River about 500 yards east of the city and offers good fishing opportunities as well. With its cold, swift water, Spring River is Arkansas’ most reliable paddling stream. Small-mouth bass fishing and duck hunting is enjoyed along the Eleven Point River.

Public schools in the Pocahontas School District include Alma Spikes Elementary School, M. D. Williams Intermediate School, Pocahontas Junior High School, and Pocahontas High School. The school mascot of Pocahontas High School is the Redskins. Black River Technical College (BRTC) is a public community college located in the city.
