Ozark MMJ Cards provides medical marijuana card renewals to residents of Newport, Arkansas. It is located northeast of Little Rock on the White River. Other river towns including Augusta, Des Arc, Clarendon and St. Charles are located along the banks of the White River. The river angles south over the Arkansas Delta region and eventually merges with the Mississippi River in southeast Arkansas. 

The White River National Wildlife Refuge is located approximately 90 miles from the river’s end. Anglers frequently enjoy fishing for largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, and bream on the White River and in the many small lakes of the White River National Wildlife Refuge. Residents of Newport can enjoy plentiful outdoor recreational activities along the waters of the lower White River and at nearby Jacksport State Park. The park’s facilities include 20 campsites, a swimming beach, pavilion, picnic sites, a playground, and the half-mile Tunstall Riverwalk. Courthouse museum exhibits are regularly hosted in the park’s historic 1872 Courthouse.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is county’s main law enforcement entity. Two prisons operated by the Arkansas Department of Corrections are located in Newport off of Arkansas Highway 384: the Grimes Unit and the McPherson Unit. The Grimes Unit is a maximum-security state prison for men, while the McPherson Unit is a prison for women and includes the state’s “death row” for female criminals.

• Positive status for human immunodeficiency virus/ acquired immune deficiency syndrome
• Hepatitis C
• Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
• Tourette’s syndrome
• Crohn’s disease
• Ulcerative colitis
• Post-traumatic stress disorder
• Severe arthritis
• Fibromyalgia
• Alzheimer’s disease
• Cachexia or wasting syndrome
• Peripheral neuropathy
• Intractable pain which is pain that has not responded to ordinary medications, treatment or surgical measures for more than six (6) months
• Severe nausea
• Seizures including without limitation those characteristic of epilepsy
• Severe and persistent muscle spasms including without limitation those characteristic of multiple sclerosis
