The Argenta Historic District also provides offers several points of access to the Arkansas River Trail and its many attractions. There are 7.5 miles of the Arkansas River Trail on the North Little Rock side of the Arkansas River. The Trail passes through six parks, including the North Shore Riverwalk Park, Riverview Park, Big Rock Quarry Park, Burns Park, Campbell Lake Park, and Cooks Landing Park. The Trail is a mecca for hikers, cyclists, skaters, joggers and other outdoor recreation enthusiasts. Its diversity of landscapes and activities provide various recreational and educational activities for residents and guests of all ages.  

An open community space in downtown Argenta, Argenta Plaza is known as North Little Rock’s “front porch.” The Plaza’s water features, front porch swings, and stage provide the public with daily entertainment and enjoyment. To learn more about the history of North Little Rock in a truly eclectic way, visitors can book a walking tour with the Haunted Argenta Ghost Tour Company. Haunted Argenta focuses on the unique history, myths, and legends of the area. Tour guides share tales of the original buildings, many of which are still standing. Visitors will also hear the stories connected to the buildings’ inhabitants, some of whom have never left. The tours are not ghost hunts, but family-friendly and informative, and spooky thrills are a distinct possibility.
